From a client

Gaylord Educational Consulting offered great support with the college application process for my two daughters.  Both daughters have learning challenges, and working with Cheri at GEC helped us navigate this journey.

My older daughter started her journey at the Jr college level. After reviewing my daughter’s IEP summary from high school,  GEC did some research at the local Jr colleges to uncover what suitable accommodations would be available to her.  She also helped with transfer essays when it was time to consider a transfer. My older daughter had to withdraw from several classes during the Covid pandemic due to mental health concerns. GEC coached her on how to address these withdrawals and how to overcome the challenges these withdrawals might present to her. GEC also helped with specific essay coaching and reviewed her applications to the UC schools. Eventually my daughter was accepted by 4 of the UC schools in Southern California

For my younger daughter, GEC offered a comprehensive session with her to gather information and get to know her, as well as, reviewing her IEP/504 and testing summary for accommodations at the high school level and how we could bridge some of those to the college level.

GEC composed a comprehensive list of colleges for her based on her academics and extracurricular activities, priorities, and interests.  GEC also filtered those colleges that did not require ACT/SAT testing which my daughter had opted out of during the pandemic. GEC focused on colleges that could offer the necessary college support system. My daughter was accepted, and now attends one of the colleges suggested by GCC.

GEC was professional and caring in engaging my two daughters and was instrumental in helping them reach their educational dreams and goals. I would whole heartedly recommend GEC to any family who is starting the college application process.
